Monthly renumeration of safai karamcharis hiked

Panipat :The Haryana government today hiked the monthly remuneration of safia karmacharis from Rs 3525 to Rs 4348.Making an announcement to this effect at a function here, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the step would benefit nearly 11,700 workers.

He said remuneration of safai karamcharis would now be credited into their bank accounts instead of being disbursed through sarpanches.

The state government would spend Rs 191 crore this year for social, educational and economic uplift of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Hooda said.

The government would incur Rs 500 crore on providing scholarship to 18 lakh students of the state, he told the function organised in connection with Mahrishi Valmiki birth anniversary.
