On 21 September, 2012, Dalits of Monjanur village, Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu, retrieved their right to burial grounds that had been been denied to them for past several years by caste hindus.
The indignant masses led by state Deputy Secretaries Kaniyamuthan & Kittu of Liberation Panthers Party (VCK) removed the barricades laid by caste hindus obstructing the passage to burial grounds & buried the body of Mr.Jeganathan.
Mr. Jegannathan had also been a key participant from the village in this struggle.
