The government of Maharashtra declared 7th of November to be celebrated as Students’ Day on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s first day of school entry, back in 1900 AD. Today 117 years have been completed after this historic step. His school’s name was Chhatrapati Pratap Singh High School, which is located in Satara.
It is indeed a good step taken by the government of Maharashtra to celebrate the legacy of this visionary nation builder who laid the foundation for our country and protected us with the walls of equality, liberty, fraternity, secularism, and justice as enshrined in the constitution of India.
To celebrate this day and to make it special for the students, we, the volunteers of Rashtranirmate Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vichar Mahotsav Samiti decided to give a special gift to the students of our society.
We decided to start a social venture which is known as YES – Yogdaan and Education for Society, at our Panchasheel Buddha Vihar, Rabale, which is located in Navi Mumbai. We took a pledge to serve the society with all our physical and mental strengths. This venture is inspired by the universal mission of Payback to Society and it is powered by the thoughts of social reformers.
Under this social venture, we have decided to give a couple of hours every Sunday for the students and to help them in their curriculum activities and guide them through their studies. Students from various classes have given a positive response. This service is irrespective of once caste, creed, religion, gender etc and to provide equal education and contribution to all the masses of the society.
Not only this, we have also decided to give constitutional, social and ethical education to these tender minds. We are going to organize various guest lectures from various fields by the experts. Along with that, different path-breaking events will be organized to match the progress of our venture.
It will create a bond between the young students and a sense of responsibility that they are a product of society and they have to return from where they came to offer their share and service in the transformation of the nation. So that when they grow up, they will pass on these things to their successors. Everyone in this world can donate three things to the society: time, talent and treasure.
Each of them is equally important for the society to transform. We have decided to give our time and talent to the society. It will indeed help to form a nameless and selfless society which will focus on contribution rather than competition and will lead the country without any title. It will help us to create a well develop citizen who will help us to create a well-developed nation.
Today we are confused with the complications of the system and the way our country is running. Some people talk more and do less, while some people do less and talk more. People across the country want to change, but some kind of hurdles are always on the path of progress. At this time, only those who have patience, persistence, and determination of their destined goal, have the competency to cross the hurdles and enjoy the success.
Instead of fighting and competing we should shift ourselves to the level of “contribution”. it is the easiest thing to do and it brings a deep sense of self-satisfaction. As the enlightened Buddha said, “A Jug fills Drop by Drop”, so we are contributing our share to fill our country with the drops of Kushal Kamma (good deeds).
