Students from Aligarh Muslim University, Delhi and SIO committee members are saying that UGC NET results of 2012 have forcibly denied JRF to eligible SC/ST/OBC students.
The cut-off marks for different categories in various subjects are revealing. In almost 14 subjects, the cut-off marks for OBCs are more than the cut-off marks for the General candidates, and the cut-off marks for SC/ST students in a couple of subjects are also higher than the cut-off for General Category students!
However, SC/ST/OBCs, whatever their scores, were pushed into the Reserved Categories. This is a serious violation of the reservation policy, because it efffectively means that general category has become the reserved category, or a category that is reserved for upper caste students exclusively.
